Based on their principle of harnessing rural leadership, organisation, public awareness, financial support, knowledge base and democratic way of functioning, the Navodaya Self Help Groups have emerged as a ray of hope for the people of the rural areas.
Formed at a time when the economically backward people living in the rural areas, that too small farmers, agricultural labourers, landless labourers, rural artisans and womenfolk had rely on borrowing money from money lenders to meet their urgent day-to-day financial requirements. The ‘Navodaya’ groups have responded to all their problems and have been successful in invoking financial vitality among the rural people.
Navodaya Grama Vikas Charitable Trust, which is engaged in the formation of Navodaya Self Help Groups is achieving success in the great task of providing financial and social security to the below-poverty-line families. Working hand-in-hand with the people of rural areas, Navodaya Grama Vikas Charitable Trust is now spreading its wings at the state level.

With the motto “From dependence to self-dependence”, Navodaya Self Help Groups have taken a bold step and seen the development of the poor people. Now Navodaya self help group is at threshold of silver jubilee. A tremendous achievement have been recorded in these 25 years of existence.
